Stevenson Search Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon E. Mullican, PhD to Vice President of Translational Sciences at Covant Therapeutics.
Covant Therapeutics is a therapeutics company focused on advancing innovative drug development programs through cutting-edge capabilities and expertise in chemistry, quantitative proteomics, translational sciences, and deep learning.
With more than ten years of expertise in therapeutic development, Dr. Mullican has successfully advanced novel treatments from initial concept through clinical realization across diverse areas including metabolism, autoimmunity, oncology, and ophthalmology. During her leadership tenure at Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine and Jazz Pharmaceuticals, she successfully managed cross-functional project teams, including external partnerships, throughout various R&D phases from initial target identification and validation to late-stage pivotal clinical trial implementation.
Dr. Mullican holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Baylor College of Medicine, where she established expertise in molecular and cellular biology through her identification of a novel tumor suppressor function within a nuclear receptor family. She further developed her research and collaborative expertise during her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania's Institute for Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, focusing on transcriptional and epigenomic regulation in metabolic tissues and disease states.
