Stevenson Search Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Abbey to Chief Executive Officer at Spica Therapeutics, where he will lead the company through its next phase of growth.
Spica Therapeutics is a biotechnology company pioneering precision macrophage-targeting therapies. Operating across Belgium and Denmark, Spica is expanding the deployment of its proprietary platform beyond oncology into broader, high-impact therapeutic areas, including fibroinflammatory conditions.
Mr. Abbey brings more than two decades of biopharmaceutical leadership experience, with a consistent record of company building, business development, strategic partnering, fundraising, and leading organizations through important stages of growth. He will partner closely with Spica’s Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board as the company advances its Macrophage Fingerprinting Platform and progresses toward clinical development.
Mr. Abbey joins Spica from RNatives, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and has since transitioned to Chairman of the Board. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Business Officer of ImmunOs Therapeutics, leading operations and corporate development as the company advanced its lead immuno-oncology program into the clinic and secured a clinical collaboration with Merck. Earlier, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Novadip Biosciences and spent more than 16 years at Argos Therapeutics, rising from Vice President of Business Development to Chief Business Officer before serving as Chief Executive Officer for over eight years, a tenure that included the company’s NASDAQ IPO and a pivotal Phase III clinical trial in kidney cancer.
Mr. Abbey holds a JD and MBA from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
