Stevenson Search Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Benjamin Hutchins to Vice President, CMC Development at Diagonal Therapeutics.
Diagonal Therapeutics is a biotechnology company pioneering a new class of medicines known as clustering antibodies, engineered to engage complex signaling pathways in serious diseases.
Dr. Hutchins joins Diagonal at a pivotal moment, bringing more than 15 years of hands-on experience in CMC and technical operations across complex biologics and antibody-drug conjugates. His expertise spans process and product development, analytical and control strategy, external manufacturing oversight, regulatory submissions, and lifecycle management from early-stage research through clinical readiness. He is well-positioned to support Diagonal's progression and strengthen the technical foundation underlying its novel therapeutic platform.
Most recently, Dr. Hutchins served as Vice President, Technical Operations at Mythic Therapeutics, where he established and scaled the company's technical operations function and led the end-to-end CMC strategy for its first ADC program. Prior to Mythic, he held CMC leadership roles at Editas Medicine, where he directed CMC activities for EDIT-301, and at ImmunoGen, where he spent a decade leading CMC strategy and overseeing the development of multiple ADC programs. He began his scientific career as an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute, focused on site-specific antibody conjugation and therapeutic protein engineering.
Dr. Hutchins holds a PhD in Chemistry from Penn State University and a BA in Chemistry from Skidmore College. He is a named inventor on multiple patents relating to ADC conjugation chemistry and oxidation control, and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in journals including PNAS, ACS Chemical Biology, and the Journal of Molecular Biology.
