Stevenson Search Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Joe Horrigan to Senior Vice President, Clinical Development at Definium Therapeutics.

Definium Therapeutics is a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company developing novel product candidates to treat brain health disorders and its lead investigational program is in Phase 3 development for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. As Definium prepares for three Phase 3 readouts this year, Dr. Horrigan joins at a pivotal moment to bolster the company's development organization.

Dr. Horrigan has more than 30 years of clinical development and medical affairs leadership in neuroscience, psychiatry, and rare diseases to Definium, with expertise spanning early-phase trial design through late-stage regulatory strategy. He brings particular depth in CNS and neurodevelopmental conditions including Fragile X syndrome, Rett syndrome, Angelman syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and mood disorders.

Most recently, Dr. Horrigan served as Executive Vice President, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs at Engrail Therapeutics. Prior to that, Dr. Horrigan served as Chief Medical Officer at AMO Pharma. Prior to AMO Pharma, he held the role of Vice President, Head of Clinical Development & Medical Affairs at Neuren Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, he led medical research at Autism Speaks and spent nearly a decade at GlaxoSmithKline, where he also co-founded the Medicines for Children Advisory Network. Dr. Horrigan also holds an academic appointment as Medical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University's Autism and Brain Development Center. He is an active contributor to the rare disease patient advocacy community, serving on the Scientific Advisory Boards of FRAXA Research Foundation and the Angelman Syndrome Foundation, and as a Board member of the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Dr. Horrigan earned his MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and his BS from Brown University. He completed his General Psychiatry Residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, followed by fellowships in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Pediatric Neuropsychiatry, also at UNC.
