We remember and honor Stephen Steinman, the founder of Stevenson Search Partners, who passed away on May 30, 2025. His life and legacy continue to inspire us each day. Steve was a visionary leader whose unwavering commitment and values guided Stevenson for thirty years and remain the foundation of our culture today.

In 1979, Steve founded The Stevenson Group with a bold vision: to create an executive search firm built on partnership, empathy, and genuine commitment to both clients and candidates. At a time when the industry was primarily transactional, Steve's approach was rooted in integrity, honesty, and the Golden Rule—values that became the fabric of our organization.

In 1998, Steve was joined by his youngest daughter Jennifer, who became a partner shortly thereafter. They worked side by side for over 10 years—proving to be one of the highlights of Steve’s career. A true labor of love for both father and daughter.

Steve’s leadership was marked by his rare ability to make everyone feel valued. Whether you were a candidate or a colleague, Steve listened with genuine care and authenticity. He fostered a culture where generosity and kindness were expected, and where his warmth, humor, and ability to simplify complex challenges created clear paths forward for everyone around him.

In 2010, Steve entrusted the company’s future to Adam Bloom. Together with Jennifer and Jonathan Beer, they partnered to create the next generation of TSG as Steve transitioned into an advisory role that ushered in anew phase of growth.  Upon Steve’s retirement, the team continued to build upon his legacy with the addition of partners Kris Steen and others creating what is known as Stevenson Search Partners today.

“Steve was a rare breed of leader whose unwavering core values still drive our culture today,” said Bloom, Executive Vice President of Stevenson. “He always put the company, our candidates, and our clients before himself, and he made every person feel valued. Personally and professionally, he believed in me and gave me a real chance early in my career. I am forever grateful for his support and the opportunities he created for so many others.”

Steve redefined partnership in executive search, creating a level of care and experience that was unmatched in the industry. His legacy lives on in every placement we make, every relationship we build, and every value we uphold.

Steve, a loyal and loving family man at his core, is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen; loving daughters, Cindy (Michael) Italiaander, Felicia Holtz and Jennifer (Stephen) Kay; and loving grandchildren, Maximilian, Elias, Aidan, Jevin, Jonathan and Andrew and very special dog, Charlotte.

We honor his memory by continuing to live out the values he championed, ensuring that his spirit remains at the heart of everything we do. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
